The product

Jumbo rebars in coils were produced for the first time by the Pittini Group in 2002 thanks to an innovative manufacturing system that enables hot rolling and coiling, thus eliminating further manufacturing steps.

Jumbo coils combine the advantages resulting from compact packaging with revolutionary technical characteristics such as the total lack of longitudinal wire twisting.

Jumbo coils are manufactured in Osoppo from strong and high ductile hot rolled steel meeting the specifications laid down in international regulations for applications in seismic zones.

Therefore, Jumbo coils are supplied in an ultra-compact packaging with diameters ranging from 8 to 25 mm and a weight of 2.5 tons or 5.0 tons. These no twisting coils consistently keep their mechanical characteristics along the wire thanks to the suppression of strain-hardening from differentiated cooling.

Other advantages:

  • Waste suppression during further processing;
  • Reduction of space requirement during transport and storage (height of about 90 cm).

The plants of the Pittini Group also manufacture rebars in coils using the traditional process, i.e. stretching (recoiling) from ribbed wire rod for reinforced concrete.
