{"id":210,"date":"2018-05-15T14:49:40","date_gmt":"2018-05-15T12:49:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/beahead.pittini.it\/innovative\/terre-armate-salvaguardano-paese-baviera\/"},"modified":"2023-11-27T17:27:26","modified_gmt":"2023-11-27T16:27:26","slug":"meshes-reinforced-soils-are-helping-protect-bavarian-village","status":"publish","type":"blog","link":"https:\/\/www.pittini.it\/en\/blog\/meshes-reinforced-soils-are-helping-protect-bavarian-village\/","title":{"rendered":"Pittini Meshes for reinforced soils protect a Bavarian village"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2 align=\"justify\">A village saved by mechanically stabilized earth<\/h2>\n<p align=\"justify\">In the event of heavy snowfall, the &#8220;Rainl\u00e4hne&#8221;, one of the most dangerous avalanches in Germany, endangers roads and homes in <strong><span style=\"color: #00358e;\">Mittenwald municipality (Bavaria)<\/span><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">The construction of two avalanche barriers to safeguard the area has been planned since 1999 when the detachment of a large avalanche occurred.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The biggest barrier, redirecting the avalanche along the debris cone and far from <strong><span style=\"color: #00358e;\">the residential area, is 300 meters long, has a 25 meters high section for about 150,000 m\u00b3 overall<\/span><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The construction has a very steep slope, built with a reinforced soil structure.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-29473\" src=\"https:\/\/www.pittini.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/Gruppo-Pittini-paese-bavarese-2.jpg\" alt=\"terre armate paese baviera\" width=\"298\" height=\"390\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.pittini.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/Gruppo-Pittini-paese-bavarese-2.jpg 535w, https:\/\/www.pittini.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/Gruppo-Pittini-paese-bavarese-2-229x300.jpg 229w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 298px) 100vw, 298px\" \/> <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-29471\" src=\"https:\/\/www.pittini.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/Gruppo-Pittini-paese-bavarese-1.jpg\" alt=\"terre armate paese baviera\" width=\"585\" height=\"390\" \/><\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: left;\" align=\"justify\">An environmentally sustainable technology<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The smallest of the two embankments was completed in 2016 whereas the end of the project is scheduled for winter 2017\/2018. The special meshes to reinforce the structure were produced by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pittini.it\/en\/the-group\/companies\/bstg\/\">BSTG<\/a>, the Austrian Subsidiary of <strong><span style=\"color: #00358e;\">Pittini Group<\/span><\/strong> specialized in electrowelded steel meshes. In total, <span style=\"color: #00358e;\"><strong>5,120 panels of special customized bent mesh<\/strong><\/span> and <span style=\"color: #00358e;\"><strong>30,720 shaped bars<\/strong><\/span> for a total weight of <span style=\"color: #00358e;\"><strong>90.4 tons of meshes<\/strong><\/span> were supplied.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pittini.com\/en\/products\/building-sector\/customized-electrowelded-meshes\/meshes-for-reinforced-soils\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">BSTG&#8217;s customized meshes<\/a> for reinforced soils have been used to build regular and stable embankments allowing drainage of water and enhancing the growth of vegetation, by reducing in this way the environmental impact caused by human activities.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">The whole intervention has been carried out with <span style=\"color: #00358e;\"><strong>low environmental impact<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":29396,"template":"","class_list":["post-210","blog","type-blog","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.3 -
