However, hydraulic construction and technology have certainly not remained confined to the past; even today, modern infrastructure continues to shape the landscape with a contemporary focus on functionality and efficiency. One of the most important of these projects is the <strong>Nuovo Marcio Aqueduct,<\/strong> a major <strong>water infrastructure<\/strong> that supplies approximately 25% of the water demand of the city of Rome, serving both the eastern and south-eastern areas of the capital and sixteen neighbouring municipalities. The aqueduct, whose two original channels date back to between 1860 and 1930, is now being completely renovated to deliver enhanced efficiency and safety.<\/p>\n<h2>The New Marcio Aqueduct Project<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The scope of the works involves the complete replacement of the Marcio Aqueduct, which is <strong>36 kilometres long<\/strong>. The route runs partly above ground and partly below ground, passing through the municipalities of Arsoli, Marano Equo, Roviano, Anticoli Corrado and Saracinesco. The Pittini Group supplied the following solutions:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>B450C high-ductility electro-welded wire mesh<\/strong> &#8211; approximately 860 tonnes, which guarantees structural strength and flexibility;<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>High-ductility electro-welded lattice girders<\/strong> <strong>with continuous DOUBLE PLATE brackets<\/strong> &#8211; roughly 35 tonnes, for quick and safe positioning and installation;<\/li>\n<li>Box-shaped bed foundations for supporting DN2000 pipes, ensuring stability and durability over time.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Selecting <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pittini.com\/en\/products\/building-sector\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">products from the Pittini Group<\/a> has <strong>accelerated installation times and optimised the construction process<\/strong>, while ensuring <strong>safety<\/strong> and <strong>reliability<\/strong>.
