{"id":556,"date":"2018-10-05T11:43:28","date_gmt":"2018-10-05T09:43:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/beahead.pittini.it\/innovative\/il-filo-di-saldatura-pittarc-collega-america-latina\/"},"modified":"2022-10-14T09:01:09","modified_gmt":"2022-10-14T07:01:09","slug":"pittarc-welding-wire-connecting-latin-america","status":"publish","type":"blog","link":"https:\/\/www.pittini.it\/en\/blog\/pittarc-welding-wire-connecting-latin-america\/","title":{"rendered":"Pittarc\u2019s welding wire connecting Latin America"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Orinoco bridge: a new way of connection<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">From Europe to Latin America, today we are talking about Venezuela, and specifically about the second largest river in the world by streamflow: the <strong><span style=\"color: #00358e;\">majestic Orinoco<\/span><\/strong>, more than 2,000 km long.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The river&#8217;s exploration began in 1498 with Christopher Columbus who, during his journey to America, started exploring Orinoco&#8217;s minor channels and islets thinking it was an archipelagus.<br \/>\nAt the beginning of the 1800s, the <strong><span style=\"color: #00358e;\">Berliner scientist and explorer Alexander von Humboldt<\/span><\/strong> discovered the connection between the Amazon River and the Orinoco river. The journey, which lasted 4 months, helped shedding light on the river: it turned out that it was navigable, thus paving the road for commerce and transport of people and goods throughout the entire country.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Due to the <strong><span style=\"color: #00358e;\">strategic nature of the river&#8217;s location<\/span><\/strong> and in order to facilitate movements, during the following years <strong><span style=\"color: #00358e;\">some infrastructures were built so that to simplify connections between the various towns<\/span><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-29444\" src=\"https:\/\/www.pittini.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/Gruppo-Pittini-ponte-orinoco-1.jpg\" alt=\"ponte orinoco\" width=\"445\" height=\"297\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.pittini.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/Gruppo-Pittini-ponte-orinoco-1.jpg 1000w, https:\/\/www.pittini.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/Gruppo-Pittini-ponte-orinoco-1-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.pittini.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/Gruppo-Pittini-ponte-orinoco-1-768x512.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 445px) 100vw, 445px\" \/> <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-29446\" src=\"https:\/\/www.pittini.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/Gruppo-Pittini-ponte-orinoco-2.jpg\" alt=\"ponte orinoco\" width=\"445\" height=\"297\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In 1967, the crossing of the Orinoco river was made possible for the first time by the construction of the long <strong><span style=\"color: #00358e;\">Angostura Bridge (1,678 m)<\/span><\/strong>.<br \/>\nIn 2006, the <strong><span style=\"color: #00358e;\">Orinoquia bridge<\/span><\/strong> was built <strong><span style=\"color: #00358e;\">(3,156 meters long)<\/span><\/strong>, which for many years has been the longest reinforced-concrete bridge in the world.
