The Pittini Group has launched the fourth edition of Steel Engineer<\/strong>, a work-based training programme designed to support recent engineering graduates – both bachelor\u2019s and master\u2019s degree holders – in their transition from university to the steel industry.<\/p>\n

The one-year programme offers a permanent contract<\/strong> from day one and a structured pathwa<\/strong>y combining specialist training with practical experience, with the aim of developing strategic skills for the sector. At the end of the programme, participants will be prepared to take on the role of Steel Process Engineer<\/strong> and will have the opportunity to be placed in the company function best suited to their skills, in a pathway that reconciles individual aspirations with the Group\u2019s organisational needs.<\/p>\n

The Steel Engineer<\/a> programme comprises more than 250 hours of classroom-based training on specialist topics – ranging from metallurgy and steelmaking processes to health and safety – supplemented by approximately 1,500 hours of on-the-job training. The training takes place on a rotational basis across the main corporate functions – from the technical department to production planning and ICT \u2013 and within the Pittini Group’s production departments.<\/p>\n

A multi-site, multidisciplinary programme involving 18 business areas<\/strong> and the Group’s main production sites: Ferriere Nord, SIAT, Pittarc, Acciaierie di Verona and, from this year, Siderpotenza as well, offering participants a comprehensive overview of industrial and business processes.<\/p>\n

The 2026 edition attracted over 200 applications from engineers across Italy. Following a structured selection process, which included a group assessment and individual interviews at the headquarters in Osoppo (UD), seven engineers were selected to take part in the Steel Engineer programme.<\/p>\n

For the Pittini Group, in-house training is a strategic tool<\/strong> for supporting the sector’s development and meeting the demand for specialist skills.
