The circular economy

The Circular economy is in our DNA

The Electric Arc Furnace (EAF)

The entire melting and refining process in the steelworks used a total quantity of more than 3,100,000 tons of raw materials and related materials, of which 80.5% came from a recycling process.

Steel

An alloy consisting mainly of iron and carbon. Its combination of physical, mechanical and chemical properties make it one of the most important materials used by people in a wide range of sectors and applications.

Applications

Steel is essential to the industrial activities of a Country. Its unique properties are critical in a wide range of sectors, from automotive to construction, from energy to industry. Steel is the cornerstone of economic development and growth.

Raw materials

Recycled ferrous materials used as raw materials are subject to strict controls and treatment cycles to ensure high production efficiency. This reduces energy consumption and minimises the environmental impact of recycling manufacturing processes.

Recycling

Steel is a 100% recyclable material that does not lose any of its original properties during the recycling process. This characteristic makes it a "permanent material", which is very valuable in terms of environmental sustainability. Recycling steel is a way of conserving natural resources and reducing emissions.

Environmental aspects

We believe in and are firmly committed to achieving a positive balance between business targets and environmental goals.
