An EPD certifies the conformity of products with environmental requirements
by analysing their entire life cycle.
EPD, the Environmental Product Declaration, is a voluntary environmental declaration that is applied to products. This declaration is based on an approach that analyses the entire life cycle of the product (life cycle assessment), measuring its environmental impact from the extraction of raw materials to its final disposal. Additionally, an EPD certification confirms that a product meets the minimum environmental requirements set by MEC (Minimum Environmental Criteria) regulations and that it is recognised throughout Europe through the mutual recognition agreements established by the relevant national institutions.
