Ferriere Nord obtains Emas certification

Ferriere Nord (Osoppo) has also obtained for the first time the #EMAS certification, the voluntary protocol promoted by the European Community to educate companies towards better environmental performance.

After the certification obtained by Acciaierie di Verona last October, the Ferriere Nord plant in Osoppo is now EMAS-registered following successful completion of the 3-month-long verification process carried out by the National Competent Body.

The EMAS registration, issued by the Ecolabel and Ecoaudit Committee – EMAS Italy Section and, at the same time, by ISPRA, certifies that the company has adopted a rigorous management system to evaluate, report and improve its environmental performance and to publicly communicate comprehensive information on its performance in the environmental statement.

The Eco-Management and Audit Scheme, abbreviated as EMAS, is the ideal management tool for the transition to circular economy. It is a recognition given to companies and organizations who, in addition to complying with the legal obligations, use resources efficiently, progressively reducing water, energy and raw material consumption and at the same time reducing the production of waste and emissions. The goal is to promote continuous improvements in the environmental performance of organizations through the introduction and implementation of an environmental management system and constant communication on environmental policies and performance.

This is a further important recognition for the Pittini Group, which for years has been constantly committed to continuously improving the environmental sustainability of its production activities.
