A new Jumbo® plant for Siderpotenza

A new spooler plant for the production of Jumbo® rebars in coils will be built in Potenza.

Following the achievement of the goals set by the Green Steel project in terms of sustainability and environment, technological investments continue at the Siderpotenza plant, where a new Jumbo® plant will be built.

The Pittini Group is in partnership with Danieli, with which it built the world’s first plant of this type in 2002 and is currently designing a new line for the production of rebars in coils to be installed at its plant in Potenza.

The state-of-the-art facility will be installed downstream of the existing rebars rolling mill. Consisting of 18 rolling mill benches, the mill will feed a new four-pass, semi-multi-drive finishing block to produce coil bars from 10 to 16 mm at up to two tonnes per hour, and up to five tonnes with the installation of a billet welding machine. The project foresees a second phase in the future in which a new two-pass, multi-drive block will be installed to extend the product range up to 25 mm in diameter.

Operation of the plant will start in the second quarter of 2024. The investment is aimed at continuing to expand the markets in Southern Italy and the Mediterranean region.
