Flexibility and sustainability to grow in the Italian and European markets

A strategic investment that expands the Group’s production capacity and lays the foundations for new growth opportunities in the reinforced concrete sector.

Flavio Gagliardi, Product Manager for Reinforcing Steel, explains how Acciaierie di Veronas new rebar finish will help strengthen the Group’s presence in the Italian and European markets, thanks to production flexibility, efficiency and sustainability.

What are the main target markets for the new bar finish from Verona?

The new range from the Verona bar rolling mill is primarily aimed at the Italian market – our main focus – with a gradual expansion into Central European markets, particularly the German market. This strategy enables us to consolidate our presence in the domestic market thanks to our proximity to customers and our competitive logistics, whilst at the same time strengthening the Group’s international positioning.

How does the plant meet market demands?

The ability to produce bars ranging from 10 to 22 mm, with future extensions to larger diameters, has been designed to ensure maximum flexibility. The high level of automation enables the company to respond quickly to customer requests, both in terms of diameters and lengths. This translates into a more comprehensive and reliable service, capable of meeting both standard requirements and more specific applications.

What added value do customers see in the solutions implemented in the new plant?

The new plant has been designed with a strong focus on efficiency and sustainability, in line with the Group’s ongoing commitment. The results achieved in terms of EPD (Environmental Product Declaration) place us amongst the European leaders and enable us to meet the demands of a market that is increasingly focused on sustainability. For our customers, this means being able to rely on a partner that is trustworthy, competitive and mindful of environmental considerations.
