From work placements to the Group: three different experiences that led to jobs

Entering the world of work through an internship means putting your skills to the test, getting to know the company first-hand and laying the foundations for your career.

For some young colleagues at the Pittini Group, their work placement has turned into a real opportunity for personal development and career progression. We have gathered their testimonials.

Matteo Lugano

Internship in the Energy Department – Group Technical Department. Since 2022, in the Group Technical Department

How did your journey at Pittini begin?

During my work placement and whilst working on my dissertation, I was offered the opportunity to work on a project relating to the granulation of white slag. This gave me the chance to gain first-hand insight into both the Energy Department and the Group’s Technical Department.

What did you take away from this experience?

I had the opportunity to tackle practical issues and to see the project I had been working on grow over time. Today, that idea has become a fully operational system, and I am proud to have contributed to its development.

Federica Cinti

Work placement in the Sales Department. From January 2026 in the Group’s Sales Department

How valuable was the work placement for your career path?

It was my first job after graduating, and it enabled me to put the knowledge I’d gained at university into practice.

When did you realise that your career would continue within the company?

At the end of my work placement, I received positive feedback on the work I had done and was subsequently offered a job. It was a sign that this experience could turn into a real career opportunity.

Lorenzo Tarana

Work placement in the Research and Development Department at Acciaierie di Verona. From March 2026 in the Production Planning Department

What was it like for you during the period when you were writing your dissertation and doing your work placement?

From day one, I worked on my thesis whilst consulting with experienced colleagues and taking part in the office’s activities. It was a very formative experience.

What made you decide to continue your career with the Group?

The dynamic working environment and opportunities for growth enabled me to acquire new skills quickly. When I was offered the chance to join the Production Planning Department, I decided to continue along this career path.
