Pittini Group’s first Sustainability Report

Pittini Group has published its first Sustainability Report. The aim of this document, which involves all stakeholders, is to report on the Group’s commitment and corporate responsibility: from environmental investments to the social impacts on the area and the local communities.

For years, Pittini Group has been pursuing the circular economy principles, which are embodied in the internal Zero Waste program, working towards reducing consumption, eliminating waste, efficiently managing energy and the use of water. This report is a further step to reduce the environmental footprint, following the Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda, and to contribute towards counteracting climate change, as also envisaged by the new European Green Deal.

Specifically, the Pittini Group is a protagonist of the ecological transition in the steel sector thanks to its long-time experience in innovation and in finding solutions to limit natural resource use, to reduce emissions and to improve the energetic efficiency of plants.

Not only has the Sustainability Report been drawn up following the guidelines set by the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), which is the main resource for creating sustainability performance reports, but it has also been certified by IGQ, the first quality, environment, workplace safety and energy management system certification body in Italy.
