The Pittini Group has published its 2025 Sustainability Report. This year, the report marks a change in both methodology and content: for the first time, the report has been drawn up in accordance with the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS), adopting the guidelines of the European CSRD directive ahead of schedule. This approach makes the data more transparent and comparable over time, and positions the Group amongst the industrial companies that have already begun this process of aligning with the new European standards.
Environment, people, economy: the results for 2025
The 2025 results show tangible progress across all key environmental indicators: 45.9% of the energy consumed comes from renewable sources; CO₂ emissions per tonne of steel produced have fallen by 38% compared with 2024; water consumption has fallen by 15%; and waste generated per tonne of steel has fallen by 11%. Added to these figures are the results of the Zero Waste initiative, which has transformed almost 360,000 tonnes of production waste into new resources, and the expansion of rail transport, which has eliminated over 54,000 lorry journeys, saving around 33,760 tonnes of CO2.
The Annual Report also devotes considerable space to people: 56,170 hours of training provided, a staff turnover rate down to 8 per cent, and 94 per cent of employees on permanent contracts. From a financial perspective, the value generated by the Group exceeded 2 billion euros, distributed throughout the entire supply chain amongst suppliers, staff, the public sector and lenders.
