The Pittini Group has taken another important step towards environmental sustainability by obtaining the EPD – Environmental Product Declaration – certification for the wire rod produced at the Acciaierie di Verona production site.
The EPD is a voluntary environmental certification that is in compliance with the UNI EN ISO 14025:2010 standard. It is part of the environmental policies of the European Union. This certification provides transparent and verified information on the environmental impact of products throughout their entire life cycle. The EPD, issued by ICMQ (Institute for Certification and Quality Marking for Products and Services in the Construction Sector), certifies the conformity of the wire rod produced by Acciaierie di Verona with the relevant environmental requirements and has been published by the Italian programme operator EPDITALY.
The wire rod produced by Acciaierie di Verona is the eighth product of the Pittini Group to have achieved an EPD certification, which confirms the ongoing commitment of the Group towards environmental protection. In addition to wire rod, the Group has already certified its main products, including rebar, electro-welded wire mesh and coils.
